Thank God There's More

Something about the sequencing of Use Your Illusion I never made sense to me. I always felt like November Rain should close the album and I always get up to pop in another CD or switch of to my player when its just about done, then I realize there are still 6 songs left. I'm excited there's more GnR on its way, but I'm sad November Rain is over.

I've been going to my gym during my lunch break which is so awesome. Its so much more laid back. I usually wind up eating lunch at my desk anyway. I need to seriously step up my excercise routine and check my eating habits. I've gained alot of weight lately. I blame this mostly on quitting smoking since I hovered in an acceptable weight range for quite awhile without excercising or watching too closely what I eat (though my eating habits have become attrocious). At any rate, I quit smoking because I could feel it killing me, now I can feel being fat killing me so its time to get serious. ... Monday ... its the weekend and I feel like ordering a pizza tonight.

Best Device Ever

My friends have always seen me as a gadget person. I guess I can see their point, I tend to be an early adopter, but I'm not the kind of person who has to go out and buy the latest and greatest thing for the sake of it being the latest and the greatest. I just like when things work with my lifestyle. That said my new favorite gadget is my X-Box. Not the 360. "But thats not a new gadget," you say? You're right, except I spent the spare hours of my weekend turning it into an X Box Media Center. This may be the coolest thing ever. The short of it is that now my X Box can stream content including music, video and rss feeds from the internet or my home network. I really did this because I was interested in using my x Box to play the music I have on my PC so I can access my music collection from my living room and play it back while "hanging out." But this has turned out to be so much cooler than I could have thought. I can pull up video feeds from CNN, Comedy Central, etc and watch them on my Television instead of having to sit in my room. This is especially convenient since I've become addicted to a couple of video Pod Casts, Command-N and Diggnation and can now watch them in my living room.
The coolest feature and a reason for keeping me up late goofing off lately is the LaunchCast plug in which allows you to watch all of Launch Casts streaming music videos on demand. I was up much later than I should have been last night watching GnR, Jay Z and Motley Crue vids.
I hadn't used my X Box at all in maybe a year, now I think it will get heavy use. I highly recomend if you have an X Box to mod it and install this media center. Actually even if you don't have one I recomend you buy a used one and do this.

Excess

Things I've been doing to excess lately:

- Drinking
- Eating
- Caffeine
- Fighting
- TV Watching

Things I haven't been doing enough of:

- Working out
- [*]
- Sleeping
- Reading
- Cleaning

I need to step back and re-evaluate my life and what I want out of it. I keep feeling like I'm waiting for something, some routine or some event at which point I can start living my life the way I want to. The thing is I think I could start living it like I want to right now except I have no idea what I want to start doing or what's wrong with what I'm doing right now.

I need to discover what make me happy and start doing that every day.

First (Not First) Post

I few years ago I figured I'd start a blog of my own. I wanted it to be a place for me to write words on things that were important to me and post some photos. This was before Flickr was all around and blogger was a little iffy those days, so I thought I'd write a really awesome site around Movable Type. Well that turned out to be work and I turned out to be lazy. So here's another shot letting blogger do all the work for me.

Today I am bored. Usually when I say that someone comes up with all kinds of fun things to do, but I'm not really looking for something to do. I guess I'm less bored than dissatisfied. I'm looking for satisfaction. I'm looking for that feeling you got when you lived with 5 of your best friends and came home to find the grill fired up and a case of beer in the fridge. Then you hung out until you were tired. Yeah, that would hit the spot.
